SZA – competence in joining – Austria‘s accreditation for education in accordance to EWF and IIW regulations

SZA (Schweißtechnische Zentralanstalt, est. 1930) is a founding member of the  European Welding Federation for Welding, Joining and Cutting (EWF)and the International Institute of Welding (IIW). SZA is also the Responsible Member Society of IIW and EWF in Austria.

We are partner, network hub and information broker for everybody working in joining, for trade, industry educational and vocational training institutions, at national and international level. We join materials, technologies, methods, people and organizations through knowledge and energy.

Schweißtechnische Zentralanstalt is a non-profit organization based in Vienna, Austria. Its field of business activity is the Austrian federal territory, all countries in Europe and all countries worldwide, where the organization is allowed to act.

The purposes of the association are the cultivation and promotion of material, welding, joining and testing technology and related processes in combination with training and research programs.

SZA is chargé d’affaires of ANB Austria – SZA (Authorised Nominated Body) since 1993. SZA and ANB act worldwide in harmonized teaching contents and qualification of welding personnel and businesses.

The association is funded through membership fees as well as ideal means, like cooperation with research and training organizations of joining technologies, holding of or participating in relevant conventions and technical fairs, periodic information to members and qualified professionals.

Association members are either regular or extraordinary members.
